Shanghai street eats under the rocket ship!

While in Shanghai I met up with old Cal Wushu friends Cindy and Eugene in Pudong.    The subway station was right across the famous Pearl TV Tower (the space ship looking thing you see in the pics of the Shanghai skyline).

On the way back after dinner there were a number of street vendors set up selling various wares.  What caught my attention were the food carts.... normally I try to avoid most street food, but these ones really tempted me. (but as I had just finished a big dinner, I was able to resist!)

Subway Rock Stars

Yesterday while riding the subway in Beijing I was treated by not one, but two subway car guitarists panhandling for donations inside the car. On on level it is a nice change of pace to have some background music, on the other level it's annoying to have amateur hour forced on you in the subway...

Ironically while the second guy was playing the blind beggar guys came walking thru playing their Buddhist Chant soundtrack. I wonder if these guys ever fight for territory...
