福岡、香港、広州

Here are my pics from the first part of my latest trip to HK/China.

Before I even left Japan, I visited the observation deck of the international terminal at fuku0ka airport (my first time taking an international flight here. Unlike the domestic terminal's observation deck, this one is behind glass (blurry glass!) :-(

Welcome to Hong Kong. Here i am passing City hall on the free shuttle bus from the airport express. rather quick, i was through customs and checked into my hotel with ~1.5 hours of landing (could have been faster if i took a direct bus or cab).

Another shot via the phone cam.

Later that night I met up with Zwooman, her sister, a bunch of these Walnut guys they knew from high school who happened to be in town too. We met up with Hansel here too. I mentioned to Jetrin the next day that he seemed kind of phoney to me, but then she reminded me "of course, he's a male model." :-P

Here we go, the Melanie Z. and Emily Z.

Next day I headed down to the waterfront in Wanchai to meet up with Jetrin for lunch. A nice view of the skyline towards Central.

Just want I wanted to see, a 10 tall blow-up of Jerry Yan's head. there are reports of F4 fans making a run on Oral-B supplies at local stores...

A short break in the foul weather. I watched the Star Ferry come in for docking from Kowloon.

The rarely photographed back side of the HK Convention Center - the site where Nicolas Tse almost tragically fell to his death, but unfortunately was saved by Jackie Chan (...in the movie 'New Police Story').

Jetrin polishing off her soup.

After lunch, I took the bus over to Causeway Bay to catch a movie. Everytime i take the bus in HK, I always try to get the front seat on the double decker bus. its like an amusement park ride. lots of fun, good way to see the city. :-P

Here's the promo info for the movie I saw, "Drink Drank Drunk" guess who was in it? Yes, Dan Wu (with Miriam Yeung again). Of course if given the choice I'd want to see another of Dan's movie. But in this case even if I didn't, I wouldn't have a choice, it was showing at all 3 of the 3 movie theaters I visited, and it was the only HK movie currently showing at those three theaters, believe it or not. I'll post up a review as a separate entry.

After much difficulty finding my way to Hong Hom station, to catch my train to Guangzhou. And guess who was staring up at me from the magazine rack at the station? Yes, thats right, Dan Wu... caught in some sereptitious paparrazi shot having dinner with "Lisa S." the headline said something along the lines of "Miriam is furious" and "Dan Wu and his girlfriend".

I snuck a shot in from the train. it was rather nice, clean, fast, good appointments. its the first time I've taken it, its nice, you don't have to stop at the border, non-stop direct to Guangzhou, only takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, downtown to downtown.
The train was actually double decker too. cool.

In my hotel in China. Its supposed to be some kind of smoke hood, in case of fire. I don't think there are enough though. :-O
